Where can I find a good microphone voice recorder for optimal quality in an on-camera speech?

My boss is recording a simple video presentation and we have a high-definition camera, but the sound quality is not quite professional enough. Our idea was to buy a microphone to attach to his collar so he can talk directly into it, and capture a high-quality voice recording that we can sync to the video. We will probably use it more than once, so I don’t think he’ll mind spending a few hundred dollars for decent hardware.

Worth mentioning we’re in Australia.
